Wildlife Supporters Tee Off at 5th Annual Golf Tournament

Yearly event helps provide funding for projects benefiting Pennsylvania wildlife and habitats

The Wildlife For Everyone Endowment Foundation held its 5th Annual Tee Off For Wildlife Golf Tournament on Friday, August 14, 2015 at The Links at Gettysburg. The one-day event helps provide money for projects benefiting Pennsylvania wildlife and its habitats. This year more than 60 golfers, spectators and volunteers attended the event, helping make it one of the most successful fundraisers held by the Foundation.

Teams of four golfers competed in the scramble format tournament under sunny skies with temperatures hovering around 85 degrees. Thanks to Confer's Jewelers in Bellefonte, PA, the popular "Diamonds in the Rough" competition was held at the putting green between holes #9 and #10 and a "Pot of Gold" was held at hole #6. After the tournament, all attendees received a buffet-style dinner and a short ceremony recognized the winners. Additionally, the Foundation held its live auction, Chinese auction and 50/50 raffle drawing.

"I look forward to the golf tournament every year," said Wildlife For Everyone Endowment Foundation Executive Director Vern Ross. "Interest in this event and our foundation continues to grow across Pennsylvania."

The Links at Gettysburg is a "4 1/2 Star" rated facility by Golf Digest. The European-style links course features daunting elevated tee boxes with slender, precise landing areas. With 14 lakes and streams and red-rock canyons and formations, The Links at Gettysburg provides outdoor enthusiasts with spectacular views of wildlife and its habitat, making it an ideal home for the Foundation's annual tournament.

Wildlife For Everyone Endowment Foundation was established to provide permanent private support for wildlife habitat enhancement, wildlife research and education, land preservation and for the establishment of a Wildlife Education and Research Center. The Foundation celebrates the rich heritage of Pennsylvania wildlife, habitat and sportsmen and sportswomen. To date, Wildlife For Everyone Endowment Foundation has raised and provided over two million dollars on habitat improvements and educational programs throughout Pennsylvania.
